Identity in Christ!
If you have put your faith in Jesus Christ by believing that He died for your sins and rose again; three things have changed forever. God has given you... 1) A New Start. 2) A New Life. 3) A New Identity. Because Christ's death has removed all of your sins forever, God has given you a new start and a new life (Christ's resurrection life has been imparted to you). He has also given you a new identity! You have been born again into God's royal family and you are now His dearly loved child forever! He has also given you a rich heavenly inheritance. 1 Peter 1:3-5.
You are perfectly accepted and fully approved in God's sight, not because of something you do or don't do, or on the basis of of your obedience or disobedience, but only because God has placed you "in Christ" who removed your sins forever on the cross and clothed you with His perfect righteousness! This all takes place the very moment you put your faith in Christ alone, believing in Him as your only Savior. See 2 Corinthians 5:21 and Ephesians 1:3-8. God has decreed that you are 'perfectly righteous forever in Christ', not because of your righteousness (which is inadequate at best), but because of Christ's righteousness. Your new identity is found in Christ alone and it has been freely given from God to you (and not on the basis of anything you do for God or give to God)! See Romans 3:22 and Romans 8:31-33 Enjoying the privileges of your new identity begins when you start realizing, and resting on the fact, that all the treasures of Christ are yours, not because of your own devotion, effort or zeal, but only because God has poured out His undeserved grace on you generously, lavishly and without limit.
